Wilson's Prom Jan 09

I am off on school holidays now until February. Thanks to everyone for looking at my blog. I hope you have enjoyed reading it and having a look at the links and playing the games. It has been great to hear from those of you who have sent me comments!

I thought I’d share my favourite place to holiday.

Wilsons Promontory or “The Prom” as we call it is the southern most point of mainland Australia.

The National Park contains the largest coastal wilderness area in Victoria. It is framed by granite headlands, mountains, forests and fern gullies. We camp, but you can stay in eco cabins or huts.

It is so beautiful, lots of untouched wilderness. You will find surf beaches, a beautiful boardwalk, short and longer day walks or overnight hikes. If you are into the quiet life you can just relax at Tidal River. There is also an abundance of wildlife and uniquely Australian animals. Remember to pack up your food at night, the wombats get VERY hungry!!!

The park has a rich history and Australian aboriginal heritage, the Boon Wurrung, Bunurong and Gunai – Kurnai identify the Wilsons Promontory National Park as their Traditional Country.

If you would like to find out more check out the Parks Victoria Website here.

The web address is:http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=217

Maybe I’ll see you down there! Happy Holidays 🙂
